The beginning of 2010 has seen two considerable setbacks to our Arabian breeding programme...
The first was the devastating loss of our Asfour daughter Simeon Seudah [due to Colitis],
along with the unborn Shatoor foal she was carrying,
followed soon after by the premature loss of Malana's foal by Riyadh.
Diva De-Rothbury has been bred to Shatoor, in an endeavour to fill the place left by the loss of Seudah and her baby,
but as it is now late in the season, it has been decided to leave Malana empty until the coming 2010 breeding season.
Our heartfelt thanks to all who phoned, emailed, sent cards and messages of sympathy and support... it was appreciated.
It's an uphill battle.... but onwards and upwards nonetheless.
Go "the Lemon Pony"!
News from Jodie and "Team Lemon" is all positive...
Lemon is now working consistently well at official Novice level and regularly placing at Pony Dressage.
This is purely due to the dedication of Jodie to our bold as brass little pony... she's does him [and us] proud!
We were excited to take our place in the ever expanding "Team Lemon Cheer Squad"
at Dressage with the Stars in March, where he came 4th in the hotly contested 5yo dressage pony competition
amongst some incredibly strong competition... Top Effort Jodie!
Congratulations!
To Lisa Oneill [breeder] and the Halloran family, who own and show the lovely Welsh B mare Marconi Chanel, on her recent success at both Melbourne Royal Horse Show and Barastoc.
Chanel is a daughter of Marconi Stud's Weston Park Mercury and our very own Weston Park Music... who has been re-bred to Mercury for a full sibling to Chanel - Fingers are firmly crossed for a resulting foal that will be every bit as lovely as she is.
Foal Shows...
Over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd of May, Charles attended the PetStock and Magic Breed Foal Shows
at Werribee Park, where he was awarded Champion Riding Pony at PetStock Show,
and Reserve Champion Dual registered Riding Pony at the Magic breed show.
Many thanks to Jayne Bellchambers of Westacres for doing such a great job with him
Congratulations and good luck...

Welcome to Rokewood... Sarahn Pretty n Pink.
We're delighted to announce the recent arrival of our latest addition to the Rokewood pony collection...
the cremello Welsh Mountain/Arabian pony, Sarahn Pretty n Pink [Woranora Tempest X Snowdonvale Fantasia].
We have long been admirers of Sara's sire Woranora Tempest and his progeny, and of the influential Welsh A stallion Menai Silver Sand, who we have fond memories of meeting at Woranora Stud many years ago...
so when the opportunity to obtain a double dilute Tempest daughter, with a triple cross to Menai Silver Sand presented itself, resistance was futile and she was purchased without hesitation. Many thanks to Sherrie Hilliard and Wade Edwards from Sarahn Pony Stud, for considering us a suitable home and agreeing to part with her.
We hope to get Sara out & about a little this season, before she joins the broodmare band... we have so many different breedings planned for her, and so many potential husbands to choose from... the decision is where to start!
Wonderful to hear from you!
We love to hear family updates... so were delighted to recieve recent photos and news of these two
very beautiful [and much loved] Riyadh Sons.
"Reflecting the beauty and power of his pedigree, Muta'Salim has matured into a breathtaking stallion with perfect temperament, a gentleman and yet a fantastic show-off as the circumstance suits.
2010 will be a very exciting year as Salim's first foals are highly anticipated - First is Sar Annisa,
our Sar Monisa daughter by Maa'zooz and next is Mark Lilley and Tanya Hawley's Nahlanah."

Thanks also to Monica DeGraaf for this gorgeous photo of Elleganza's Riyadh baby , Razara Momentum [aka "Teddy"].
Monica reports that Teddy is now weaned and gelded, in preparation for his new career as her future show and saddle gelding... with his impressive size, gorgeous face, his glorious Mum's lovely blonde locks and that fabulous "Teddy Bear" temperament, we have absolutely no doubt he'll be perfect for the job... and look forward to his showring debut.
